FeaturesThe KN-COPP-B-LPM is an essential device to help warn you and your family of dangerous carbon monoxide levels in your home. This alarm measures the exposure to carbon monoxide over time; it is designed to sound at 85 decibels at 10 feet when it detects 70 ppm (parts per million) of CO for 60 to 240 minutes, 150 ppm for 10 to 50 minutes, or 400 ppm for 4 to 15 minutes. The easily visible digital display indicates the level of CO that the unit is sensing, and it updates the status every 15 seconds for timely and accurate readings. Its free-standing design allows for attachment to a wall or placement on a counter or nightstand for convenient and comprehensive protection. The KN-COPP-B-LPM also includes a slide-out battery door that provides immediate access to the power source as well as a battery safeguard that makes it difficult to close the cover without batteries installed. An LED lighting system on the unit signals power levels and sourcing: the green LED will flash once every 30 seconds to indicate the alarm is operating properly when power is present, and the red LED will pulse to indicate carbon monoxide has been detected until the device is reset or the CO threat is eliminated. The new Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPM carbon monoxide alarm is the only battery-operated alarm that includes a backlight digital display feature. This key feature adds an advanced level of protection that you have come to expect in a Kidde manufactured product. The battery operated CO alarm includes multiple mounting options, allowing installation on a wall or tabletop. This alarm has been carefully designed and tested to detect CO concentration in a residential environment. It provides continuous monitoring of CO levels, even during power outages when many CO incidents occur. The backlit digital display feature allows for easy viewing of carbon monoxide levels from 30-999 PPM (parts per million). The KN-COPP-B-LPM will also detect and store concentration CO levels as low as 11 and up to 999 PPM with its peak level memory display. This alarm includes a snap-on cover that gives immediate access to the batteries and a safety feature that makes it difficult to close the cover without the batteries being installed. Updates digital reading every 15 seconds, allowing you to see if levels change. The backlit display helps to see the displayed reading in the dark, and the backlight appears during the peak level cycle. The light will also turn on when the peak level button is pressed. The peak level memory displays the highest CO concentration measured since the last reset. The test/reset button tests CO alarm circuit operation and allows you to immediately silence the alarm. A low battery signal alerts users when the batteries need to be replaced. Includes informative LEDs: green LED for normal operation, red LED for alarm. This is a very convenient unit to install and figure out. I like the digital display because you can see the CO levels and can get a sense of any issues by simply glancing at the unit when walking by. I liked that it came with brand name batteries too, when I was looking at my local hardware store some of the units had generic batteries. The reason I bought a Kidde is the built in functionality. I had a smoke alarm of theirs that was acting funny, beeping every 30 seconds, so I pulled it down and right on the back it listed what each beep sequence meant (no having to hunt for a manual, or search online). This unit acts in the same manner, it's even supposed to alert me in 7 years when it is time to replace the unit, how cool is that?
I bought this alarm because the description said you could use it on a table top. I wanted to put Carbon Monoxide alarm in the basement near the water heater and furnace but didn't want to go to the trouble of mounting it on a cement wall. This worked great! I just set it on the shelf in the laundry room. Bonus, I can still read the digital display because the screen is big. I have the previous version of this which was round and i think the part number was KN-COPP-B. I kept the box so I could order another one but was happy to find out that they updated it and made it free standing.
I highly recommend this product, and Amazon shipped it in a day. I bought it and the next day I had it in my house working.
