I replaced my two old smoke detectors with this one and the COSM-IB to add CO detection in both levels of my home and check for both ionization and smoke. The unit tested okay except that it did not send out the interconnect alarm signal nor did it respond to the alarm state from the other unit. KIDDE customer support was good about helping me resolve which unit was faulty and did replace the faulty unit. It took about 10 days to receive the replacement. I think that KIDDE should have been a bit faster in getting the replacement to me.
